Oil for the 03 Legacy GT

We have almost 2k on the odo of our new legacy and since it was actually built 15 months ago I'm thinking of changing the oil this weekend (my wife drive 3 miles a day to and from work). I'm thinking synth. oil probably Mobil but I do have some questions.
Which weight for PA summers and winters?
It won't void the warranty right?

No, it will not void the warranty. We often have cutomers who come in and request Mobil 1 synthetic for their oil changes and we stock it for that reason. We also have many cutomers who bring their own preffered brand of oil with them for services.

i read somewhere that a new engine needs to break in properly and synthetic probably shouldn't be used until it has over 10k miles on it. i'm sure there are a million different opinions on the subect, though. just to be safe, i'm waiting until 10k before i put Mobil1 in the WRX. i figure, it can't HURT to just use regular oil 'til then....
