thats about avg. The FLATT kit from Japan isnt as nice
with no color options, cost more and takes forever to
get if you are lucky. But this wont be in everyones budget
either. It was a hard one for me to justify buying for the
first kit. But it takes $ to stop...oh, and to make $ too

My g/f got a 10 pcs kitchen pot set from Dillards...
non car related.....
food related though

Its just fronts.....and If you think this is $$,
check out stillen.com and their brake kits.
Front kit for most SUVs and Hi perf cars run about $3000 +

Dayle,
Would the final kit be SVX specific? Looks like the rotor is drilled to be universal. Did I read the tag attached to the caliper in the one pic right to say the caliper is "for race use only"? I agree with Doug - is there a proportioning valve in the mix?

You guys dont know the rules of manufacturing....
but Ill explain.....
If they can make one rotor that fits a variety of cars = lower cost and overhead
If they can use the same caliper to fit several cars = lowers cost of overhead etc
Every large brake manufacturer does it this way:
Baer, Brembo, Precision you name it.....
Once they have the main components on hand, then they can build rest of the kit for much less $ to fit individual cars.
No need for proportioning valve, your not going from drum to disc, its just not needed. Guess you could add one at the owners descretion, but these guys do nothing BUT brakes systems and have for yrs, I tend to trust their opinion and not question every
little thing since I dont have half the brake experience or training they do.
You guys want a kit..??

Believe it or not, I do know the rules of manufacturing (actually had to take a course in at to get my Mech Engineering degree ). I might just agree with you on the proportioning valve - assuming one did the back and front at the same time. So, the manufacturer gave you something in writing stating that a new proportioning valve isn't necessary?
How about that "for racing use only" tag?

That is very tempting.... I'll have to see where I am after I get the suspension all worked out and such.... I know that I eventually want to do the brakes and if I get those I'd just ship the rotors out to 300Below.com and have them cryo-frozen to increase the braking performance even more... Not bad price though... I've seen smaller brakes for alot more.... Thanks alot Dayle for getting these and making them available for us... I'll have to check ya out in about Christmas time or something after my Suspension is done!!!!

I dont believe they will fit with oe or 16" wheels...
After I get them installed, Ill test fit one.
Also going to test fit 17's. Im almost postive 17s will
work though, and of course 18s wont be a problem

Since we havent touched the rear at all or the mastercylinder
simply its just not needed.IF we ever do a rear kit then something will be added to compensate.
The for racing tag is a std disclaimer Willwood puts on
all their calipers.

Im pretty sure you and I can trust the companys.
This kit wasnt made by some guy in the sticks in his
garage. They are fully insured and Willwoods been around
longer then most people on this site have been alive.
I wouldnt of never had them take on the project if I
didnt think they would do a safe, professional kit.
And hey, I wouldnt even think about putting them on
my car if I didnt think they where correct

Would one expect better braking distances with this, or just much more relaible and fade resistant? Would it take alot more work to get 60-0 mph distances under 120 ft? Besides shedding 400-500 lbs?

Argh! Too much stuff I want for the SVX, yet, no money!
