Exclamation unbelieveable

Every time I work on this thing the code changes. I was pulling the MAF code until I cleaned some connectors then it included the O2 sensors and the rev. I couldn't clear the codes either. Today I cleaned the MAF, the thottle sensor, alt. connector, and checked for vac leaks. Now I can clear the codes and as I run it it stays clear. Problem is as soon as I move the car forward a ways the ec light starts flashing constant flashes. I turned it off and checked but no codes. I can reset to clear but it starts flashing when I start moving again. I took the car out and ran it hard after it was warm and it ran perfect. Who knows for how long but it was a nice change. ASny thoughts as to how to keep this light off?
Another question is would a leaking p.s. pump cause vac problems or engine performance questions? Can it be easily fixed?
Thanks, DAVE

hmmm...if yours was a 96/97 I would have suspected a tranny code indicating vehicle speed sensors. Since yours is a 94 this is not the case.

Has your Throttle Position Sensor given you problems before? Can you get the Check Engine Light to come on in park or neutral just by applying various pressure to the gas pedal? Perhaps the TPS is loose or needs an adjustment or is just worn out.

Has your power light ever started flashing?

You missed that one of the things I did was clean the TPS. After I wrote my last post I let the car sit over night. Now the CE light is staying off and the car is running fine. I can't check it under the long run until I put insurance back on it in a week or so. That tells you how long it's been giving me a problem.
I used electricians contact cleaner on all the afore mentioned parts but was concerned about a lubricant left on the MAF. I further cleaned it by running a very hot stream of water through it from both directions. So far so good, but we'll see.
NO the power light has never started flashing. It was very frustrating because of course the garages always asked that first.

When you let the car sit overnight I assume that you disconnected the battery to clear all codes..

Actually No!!! Sometimes I think this thing has a mind of it's own and I don't mean the CPU. I just let it sit overnight and in the morning the codes were already cleared by me but the CE light decided to stay off by itself. Go figure. Today I reinsured it, jumped in and drove off. I got 300 feet or so when it did that ole dying thing again. It was like the MAF wasn't adjusting for the cold start. I stuttered along a ways then disconnected the MAF. It drove fine that way accept for lack of passing power. Of course I got a code 23 before and after I disconnected it. Then I parked it in the sun for half an hour and reconnected the MAF. It drove perfect the 12 miles home. Needless to say I'm not in a place to recommend my wife to drive it. Any thoughts?
