Re: rad fans stay on
Yes the sensor is the correct one. It has been installed for some time now but the fan issues are relatively new.
Does our compressor have a pressure sensor that would cause the ecu to run the fan more often when system is low on refrigerant? |

nope... the system has a protection device that prevents the compressor from running enough to prevent sucking air into the system in the event the lo side pressure decreases when the refrigerant leaks out. It can even short cycle the compressor or prevent the compressor clutch from engaging when the refrigeration gas is "all gone"Keith Last edited by kwren; 11-15-2011 at 02:11 PM. |

Re: rad fans stay on
my vote is for the speed sensor malfunctioning...my fans kicked on the moment I started the car until the moment I shut the car off and my speedometer didn't work. Once I cleaned the sensor, the speedo worked again and the fans operate normally. So I would say pull the sensor and clean it, then plug back in...

Re: rad fans stay on
Aren't you using a WRX transmission? There is no need to swap speed sensors.

Re: rad fans stay on
if it doesn't work anyway drill a little whole in the housing so you can stick something through it to break it loose, like putting a screw driver through an oil filter.

Re: rad fans stay on
hi, i am having the opposite happen with my car i feel my car gets to the point where my fans should kick on but they dont would this be a bad sensor or is a bad sensor when they stay on all the time?
my fans kick on when my defroster are on, but when the defroster are off when idling they dont kick on, when are they suppost to kick in on there own...? Last edited by kjoyes; 07-02-2012 at 11:58 PM. |
