Tranny shudder solution?

I was reading somewhere here about a shudder ( bucking ) problem going up hills, which is what I was experiencing as well. FIXED IT!! All that I had to do was to change the tranny filter! I had replaced the tiny stock filter with the Perma Cool unit that is 3x larger than the crappy stock filter and had a 50,000 mile filter life. After 25,000 miles the tranny started shudder and buck going up hills and run @210 degrees on the freeway at 70 mph. Changed the filter and it climbs hills (torque converter in lock up mode) without bucking and the temps have dropped to less than 180 degrees at 70 mph.
I am so happy now

Matt K.

Thumbs up

How many miles do you have on the car? For the filter to clog up that bad after 25000 miles you must have had a lot of crap break loose in the tranny or you fried your fluid so bad it turned to sludge. Just to be safe I'd definitely have the fluid flushed to start out fresh. Temps as high as you were running on the highway would make the ATF useless.

Glad to hear you fixed the buckng problem, though If only all probs were solved that easily

106,000 miles total
rebuilt warranty tranny @ 32,000 w/factory filter add-on
Level 10 valve body recalibration @ 75,000( saved the 2nd tranny's life!!!)

Funny part about it is I've had synthetic in since 60k and it has always been nice and clean and red every time I change it. Luckily, the really high temps have only been happening for a week and 10 miles each time

I've had shuddering ever since I bought my car. Even after a tranny flush and filter change. It's worse going up hills.
