Where can I get 12V inside the car with the key out?

I would like to connect some IR LEDs to the 12V line. I need to be able to have them on when the key is out. Is there a 12V line in the car that is live when the key is out?

Tap into any of the existing interior lights, ie: dome light or floor light under the dash.

hmm..Just guessing...
The clock got to be constant right? or 12v constant on the radio harness?
How about the map lights? aren't those constant just switch interrupted?

Offhand, the only thing that probably has power all of the time inside the car is the clock. Maybe tap off of the clock fuse under the dash?

Believe it is a light green wire w/ a red stripe.

Sure others here may have found an easier solution

That sounds like it should work. Hopefully it isn't too much of a PITA to get to. Thanks.

Hazard button always has 12v without key in the ignition.

Tony, might be easier and just as good to go right out through the firewall and fuse the line as needed...

There is a constant +12 to the stereo to maintain the presets.

Question, does the clock and the stereo constant use full 12 volts, and at what amps? I would think just a 1.5v and a few miliamps would be sufficient for both those needs.
