looking at an svx.

The previous owner did the 5sp swap and the blinkers and brakelights dont work, the shifting is fine so i was wondering what it would take to get the lights working and how much it would be approx.

Re: looking at an svx.

Sounds like they didn't hook the Brake light switch back up on the brake pedal (Shold just be installing a brake light switch...probably $5 at a junk yard....or may already be theree, but un-plugged)

...and probably broke the turn signal blinker when the dropped the column (I did on my first swap) so replace it (if it's broken)and the turn signals should work again.

As for costs....really depends whats wrong, as it is only a guess over the internet.....

Birdy:

I have an ultra low mileage '96 red SVX listed on
AutoTrader.com. You should be able to find it
at this link:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e&rdpage=thumb

If you are unable to find it at that link, search for Subaru SVX's at
"Any Distance" and you should be able to spot a '96 Red with
15K miles.

If you have some interest, you can contact me at my public email
at: wizard2277@hotmail.com.

Thanks,

Chen ("Ken)

Re: looking at an svx.

I had that same problem when I did my 5 speed swap. The issue I had was simply a connector on the column had not been re connected. On my car it has a black rubber sleeve over the connector and when I was reconnecting everything I just missed it in the shadows under the dash board. That is the first thing I would check for. look for any loose connectors under the suede part of your lower dash on the column.
