question on the tranny.

i was wondering if i can use the tranny out of a legusey, or an outback for my svx. oh and i was wondering why dose the light for fwd is on if my car is awd.

If the front wheel drive light is on, it means that the fuse was put into the fuse box under the hood to put it into FWD mode. Remove the fuse and all is well.

Yes you can use the transmission out of a legacy or outback as long as it is before 98(98.5) You also will need to get the rear differential that matches the trans from that vehicle as the SVX is the only one with 3.54 gear ratio. You will also need to swap in the LSD from the SVX rear diff into the rear diff of the donor vehicle.

So I can use a tranny from one of thoses cars if it is like a 90 to 97.

Yes, might be 91 starting though, not 100% sure on the starting year but then you just need to swap in the rear diff from the same vehicle and then swap in the LSD from the SVX rear diff to the new to you rear end...
