3M film used for headlights protection?

Is anyone using 3M film on their headlights? I've been thinking of using this to protect mine. I made some comments in another thread but feel that it should have a thread of its own. Like I mentioned in another post it would seem that if you polished your lenses up first and then applied a layer of the 3M film it would protect the lenses from yellowing and oxidizing being that the film is UV stable and is made of a material that resists yellowing. It also ads protection from pitting.

I ordered some a few days ago that should be here this week. I will keep you up to date on how it goes. I also ordered the "spray stuff" To help it go on easier.

I hope others chime in with information that already have put them on.

I have tried this-first buff the lenses so they're nice and clear looking again, then putting the 3m film over the lens. I was waiting a while to post results to see how well it worked, but so far the lenses are staying nice and clear looking!!

I actually ordered the 3M-type film covers from SubaruParts...just haven't gotten around to cleaning the headlights before I install them.
