Talking It's winter, we should do some kind of banquet thing.

Well it's been a sort of low key year around here, at least compared to the previous 5 years. With the local club now sort of "absorbed" into the World Network and all of that, we really don't have cause for our usual Awards Banquet (besides, our attendance this last year was so varied there were only a couple of people consistently at more than one meet).

But as a bunch of locals enjoying each others' company, I think we should continue with tradition and have some sort of gathering in these cold winter months. Less focused on driving what with the weather, and more of just hanging out over dinner or something.

We could certainly do the same thing, even at the same place, or do something different.

Thoughts?

Ideas?

Date?

That's okay, we'll take SVeXers too!

Besides, we'll probably all be inside somewhere not seeing the cars anyway.

Re: It's winter, we should do some kind of banquet thing.

I think we need to meet somwhere closer to Oregon, even though there aren't a whole lot of us down here, I'd like to meet you guys, but I can't see driving to Seattle any time soon

also, I'm still down for organizing a drive/meet down here in the spring There is a thread in the meet/greet section I think, was thinking covered bridge tour around here, or winery tour in Roseburg...

Yeah, they have a pretty cool "covered bridge tour" drive thing here, kind of a self-guided thing, but the route is well marked and pretty scenic, in addition to the bridges themselves :P

I'd be up for a dinner meet! it might prod me into finishing my AC compressor swap out/gasket install (car has been down 6 months- no ambition). i've been driving my 90 astro van as a dd. truly sad!!

Re: It's winter, we should do some kind of banquet thing.

OK. I'll take a look at the calendar and throw a few dates out there.

Should we just meet at The Rock in Lynnwood like in the past. If we get enough committed to a sign up, we could use their banquet room. If not many are interested, we could just do the restaurant.

Or we could try another place.

PS - the OR covered bridge tour sounds cool, definitely something to think about come "driving season", which is only a few months away... hopefully.
