Aaron, are you sure they said the mafs?

Because it is more likely to be the TPS [throttle Position Sensor] or a faulty atf temp sensor.

Or even it could be the transmission computer.

For most people overdrive will mean 4 Range. Just to clarify, do these guys actually mean the car is not locking up in top gear? Or that the car is shifting back to 3 by itself??

the car will be in the D position and when im going from 35 to 68 it will etheir jump up 250 rpms or drop down 250 rpms continuously i pulled the codes from the tcu and only could get a code 33 but that was from the previous codes I tried to delete this by the blue wire thing i read about the also tried to touch the battery cables but the code stays. I also have a code 32 for an oxygen sensor the the ecu gives me i t didnt even clear that ethier so i dunno what to do now. PLEASE HELP!!

if the rpms are dropping and raising as you give it gas/let off on the gas that sounds like the torqe converter to me. it sounds like its locking and unlocking.

yeah, thats a good question, i know mine jumps rpms in D, i cant remember if i does in 3 although im in 3 all the time, except on the highway....

If it still holds that code it still "sees" that problem. Follow Trevor's advice. Fix the speed sensor problem.

If you do both the code should go away and the lock/unlock problem.

PS
BTW when in 3 range the gearbox does not lock up. That's why you don't hear or notice the fault in 3. It only applies to D4 range, that is, to overdrive. It's a feature to reduce fuel consumption at steady speed.
