Exhaust

My exhaust system is set up like the following:

Manifolds, straight pipes, 2-1 main catalytic converter, straight pipe, cheap magnaflow muffler.

Needless to say the car is loud, and I would like to make it a little quieter.

A local shop recommended I put resonators in where the precats used to be.
Has anyone ever done this? Do you think it will work to quiet the car down?

I have the 2 resonators they suggested, but I think it makes more sense to just put in another resonator where the old one used to be. But this local shop said it won't get rid of the loud reverberation noise that I am hearing...

What do you guys think?

You definately need some resonators in there. What diameter tubing do you have?

That's the exact system I have. 2" headpipes, into two Aero resonators, into 2-1 Main cat, 2.5" pipe into one more Aero resonator, then into a flowmaster 80 series muffler.

Sounds incredibly good I think.

Right now I have the stock size pipes. 2" from manifolds to 2-1 cat, and 2 1/2" from cat to muffler.

I guess I will go ahead and install the 2 resonators I have before the 2-1 cat and see what happens, and probaly buy another resonator for before the muffler.

Thanks a bunch for the information.
