Take the door panel completely off and look to see if anything is (was) fastening behind it.
That's looking pretty rough. I have never heard of anyone disassembling the door panel. Glue might just be the answer.

It's been a while since I've had my door panels off, but I believe that part is held on by little plastic rivets. You should be able to replace them with some small screws without it being noticeable.

yep i couldnt get that woodgrain panel off the door so broke the original clips altogether then pop-riveted it back on,, the back is just hard cardboard so i used some made up washers to hold the rivets properly from the back ... was quick and easy prob 10mins start to finish ( wanted the panel off to paint the woodgrain which is now black) and looks great im planning doing it to all my woodgrain as its very faded and looks tacky .. iv tried getting those dash kit cover things but have had no luck sourcing for a right hand drive ... yes iv tried smallcar..... they said no

Is it difficult to remove the door panel?
On a different note, where does the hose, from what looks like a fuel something, (The black cylinder beside the ABS ) go ? it seems weird it is just sitting there. Looks like it is suppose to be plugged in somewhere. Its coming from the bottom on the Cylinder.

To remove the door panel there are 2 visible screws near the hinge, 1 under the plastic cover near the handle, and 3 under the felt in the cubby slot. Then it just pops off.

The canister thing is a charcoal canister to reduce emissions. There should be an elbow shaped piece which attaches it to fender well.

nope pretty easy just undo the few screws and gently pull it out i used big flat head screwdriver so as not to break the plastic bung things that hold the panel on!! once you have it released from the door itself reach ur hand in behind and unplug your window control etc then its free to do with what you want... hint!! nows the time to replace those front speakers while the panel is off!! i did but thats another story i did what we in new zealand call a bit of ( a maori job) lol but damn my door looks good and my sounds sound good
