From the photos I can see that there is no ABS unit on your car. I thought that there were two triangular shaped things fitted in its place, but it's probably just the way the picture looks on my crappy monitor.

Well, on my fabulous 17" Aldi Medion monitor, they are twin air horns. Big ones, at that!

And maybe the reason you can't resolve them Phil, they look to have been sprayed almost green to blend in, by somebody who could almost paint.

I've always thought that big loud air horns would be a fun thing to have. But the stock horns have a nice "quality car" note and I wouldn't want to replace that with something that sounds vauxhall nova.

The cheek of you two lads! The horn sounds very majestic and manly, rather like a Jensen Interceptor's horn (they had town and country horns) and not one of them Dukes Of Hazard yokes! They have not been painted! They are black and made from real plastic.

Sorry Joe, maybe my Medion monitor is not as good on colour as I thought.

Phil, I replaced the SVX horns with larger electric ones from a Legacy TT. The SVX sound is sweet, OK, but pretty wimpy. I can't imagine anybody hearing it on a windy day.

The Legacy TT ones are class, a very up-market parp, loud enough to matter and be heeded. In fact, it's possible the one's in Joe's S40 are not air at all, but like the Legacy ones.

Joe

Do you..

Do you ship to the U.S? Better yet, would you be willing to import an SVXer into England? I may fit in a suitcase, we can try it to save on shipping. Then I'll just live in the car k?

I want it!!

Hard to figure Joe.

I just looked in on your auction, and it has ended without reaching reserve.

You can relist again without extra charges, although you have to have a lower start price or a lower reserve, I think.

It must be just a wrong time for buyers, that is a lovely car. If you are re-listing like I imagine you will, don't write up the 120,000 kilometres thing. Say that it is 73,000 miles, then mention elsewhere in the listing that the clock is in kilometres.

Best of luck.

Joe

Hi Joe,
I ended the ebay auction because someone came from Golders Green to have a look, and they decided to pay the buy now price and took it home with them. Good luck with your own sale (is it Betty you're selling?)

Result!

That's good Joe, I'm pleased it has gone well.

No, I am not selling Betty. I still have to solve the current leak and install the new gearbox. I might sell her at a later stage, but I like her too much.

I'll be selling the S40 JDM with the sweet engine in a couple of weeks time.

Keep in touch. We can get together in Ireland if you don't manage to drop in to the JAE show on 21 July.

Joe
