stainless steel brake lines & brake fluid

I'm in the market for both of the above. I have settled upon Dayle's brake lines and ATE Super Blue. Does anyone have some proven testimonials on these or better+cheaper stuff? Not lesser quality cheaper, only less expensive and not homemade! Thanks-Mike

Check that the fitting installed on the lines match up exactly with the stock SVX mounting points (I'm talking about the attachment points on the strut housings, not at the caliber and hardline). I know the SS line kits from RaceConcepts do (at least the ones I bought for the front and back brakes did). As far as fluid goes, I think many of us are using the Valvoline Synth fluid with no issues.
Make sure to thoroughly bleed your entire system when you change out the lines.

I like using the ATE Super Blue. I interchange it with the ATE Gold once a year. That way I can always tell when I have completely changed my fluid.

I am also using the Goodridge S/S lines from Precision brakes, the slotted/dimpled rotors from RaceConcepts and Akebono Pro-ACT ceramic pads all around.

How were Precision brakes to deal with? I have been getting screwed alot lately. Do you have a link? The goodgidge lines have zinc plated fittings correct? How are they holding up to the weather? How much were they. Did you have to buy different clips for the strut mount.

I bought mine on e-bay from irotors. They cost me $125 and they are very good. I tried buying from other places and the prices were ridiculous.

Got mine from irotors as well. Good quality and fit perfectly.

As far as fluid goes, unless you really work the breaks hard DOT 3 will suffice. I tend to burn up DOT 3 and on previous cars even vapor locked my brakes a few times.....boiled the break fluid which causes it to expand and lock the brakes.

Anyway, if you're like me then the higher DOT ratings would be the best way to go. By far DOT 5.1 is the top of the line. The military used to use DOT 4 silicone synthetic fluid but had too many problems with moisture contamination. Whatever you decide, stay away from any fluids containing silicone.
