The TB comes off the intake manifold pretty easily. Only six bolts holding it on. There's a bunch of hoses and two electrical plugs (IAC and TPS) that need to be removed too. If you think you might forget where the hoses attach, then mark where all the hoses go as you are removing them. And you have to remove the throttle cables too. Once you have the TB off, its easy to clean. You can easily identify the IAC and aux air passages and run some cleaner through those passages and get all the gunk off the throttle body interior surfaces. Since there are electrical components on the TB, I'd recommend either using a cleaning solution that is compatible with plastics and electrical components or taking care to avoid getting any aggresive cleaning solutions on the TPS and the IAC plug. Once you are done cleaning, it might be a good idea to put a bit of lubricant on the butterfly shaft.

I have completed a writeup on cleaning the throttle body, IAC and Aux air control valves. It is currently an MSWord file. I'd like to submit it for SVXipedia. I will try to post it in the How-to and in my locker.
Bill
I can email the file to anyone who wants it.

If you send it to me, I can get it into the How-To Documents. Send it to me at the email address that is given when you click on Earl in my signature. If you have pictures as well, they can be sent to me as well and I can put them with it if they aren't now. Thanks

This file must be too big to put in my Locker. It has pictures embedded right in the file along with the text.

Significant Technical Input
You can use any throttle body or carb cleaner. I have never seen any so labeled products attack plastics/composites. Lubrication of any throttle related part is considered a no-no as almost all lubricants attract and hold dust, etc. which can promote sticking/binding - definitely an unwanted side-effect.

Well I deleted all of the photos and created a file of just text. There are 11 photos that go with it. The text and photos are all in my locker. I would appreciate any feedback from you guys. I am just an amateur and I know some of you guys do this for a living. (Beav) I don't want to pass on any bad info, so I'll incorporate any of your comments and update the files in my locker accordingly. When it looks perfect, Earl can put it in the How to's and I'd like to get it on SVXipedia.

Bill, have you looked at the SVXipedia submission page? I've tried to make it easy to use. Of course I'm always looking for ideas on how to improve it. If you need any help submitting your article please let me know.
