Actually I've been told I should go through Edmonton instead of Calgary just for the scenery.

Anyone else want to share their ideas?

Thanks for the ride in the 5 speed Earthworm. I've decided I've got to get myself one of those!

By the way - it was really nice being able to see last night when I was driving home. I should have grit-polished those headlights a long time ago.

It was good meeting you and your father. When I find my SVX with a blown transmission I'll no doubt be emailing you to get your advice, and you father's, on the 5 speed swap.

Take it easy going home and drive safe.

I'll probably be pretty close behind you. Monday I'm heading up I-5 and taking the North Cascades Highway [20] to the Okanogan area near Oroville. I'll be leaving later in the day and taking the southern route across Puget Sound using the Tacoma Narrows bridge instead of the ferries, but if you're slow enough I'll catch ya.

Thanks for the grammar lesson

As for Earl's layers...they're not secret. His hospitality is unmatched. If you ever get a chance to come to this meet take it, you won't be disappointed!

Now for Earl's secret LAIR, that's another story!

The drive home has been ok although I was hoping to get an earlier start. We were planning on getting to Boise, ID tonight but only made it to Ontario, OR.

We're going to be meeting Chris in the morning then off on our longest day of driving yet.

We did meet Chris that morning and it was quite an interesting morning. We took a ride in each others cars (I'll let Chris go into specifics if he wants to).

After spending more time than anticipated we were on our way well behind schedule. We stopped in Bruneau, ID to see the dunes and sweat in the 100°F+ weather and made it close to Yellowstone Park for the evening.

The next day we covered the park (a little disappointing and almost hazardous) and made it past Sturgis. It just so happens this was their bike week so all the local hotels doubled their prices. We kept driving and ended up stopping in a rest area to catch a few hours sleep.

We arrived at home around 9:30pm Aug 11 in one piece with average mileage for the entire trip of over 26USmpg and a max of 29USmpg (as best as I could ever get with the 4EAT).

Still no pics as of yet as I've been looking at houses all week and missed out on the perfect one by $10k. BTW we took over 1GB of pictures/video with the camera and almost 60 mins of video with the camcorder.
