I have a 95 legacy with well over 160k miles, and aside from an alignment issue (which i have been ignoring ) its a really solid car.

and driving the legacy for a day makes the SVX seem really powerful!

My family has had many Legacys, very nice cars that last a very long time and are maintained for pretty cheap pretty much sums them up. There strong and if you can drive well off the pavement, they acully have decent offroad ability. My dads first one a 90 5spd AWD, lasted 350,000 miles of abuse with allot of city miles in those. There not that quick, but there not slow they can cruise at 80MPH very easley and don't really have any problems cruizing at over 100MPH for distances.

I have a 97 2.2 that I beat the tar out of almost daily. It has the automatic and often through the day I accelarate with redline shifts into 2nd and sometimes 3rd if I have enough room.

I auto crossed it for most of last season. I have had it off roading in soft sand, through the forest and have plowed through hood deep snow.

Aside from service parts (brakes, tires, oil, belts, plugs...) I have done nothing but replace the alternator twice (both were junk yard units at $13 ea) I have NEVER touched the transmission fluid other than to maybe add 2 quarts over all of this time. Oil changes happen between 5k and 7k, it is starting to leak a little at the cam seals. It did develop a slight tap after I ran it short on oil for a few days (added 3 quarts to fill it :-O )

I have close to 210k miles on it and would not hesitate to drive it across the country tomorrow if I needed to. I will never be able to get rid of this car as it has been so loyal to me.

No, it isn't as powerful or stylish as the SVX, but I still love driving it around. And often when I'm just going out for a "cruise" I have trouble picking between the two.

I bought it for $12,000 in 99 with 40k miles.

I also notice i suffer from severe leadfoot when driving my legacy. i think thats more to do with me enjoying G-forces than the car itself

Well put. I only paid $200 for mine and it's a 90. It's pushing over 200K and hit's red lines many times every day. It burns a bit of oil now but I just add three quarts when it starts to tick and keep going. You can't go wrong with these cars.

Kenneth, The 05 is my sons car. It is the base GT and is Black. It has deep tinted windows, and he has installed accessport by Cobb, and changed out the up? Pipe. My wife drives the SVX, used to drive the 97 GT, but daughter who will turn 16 in June is getting that car.
