Quite the opposite actually, K&N claims that they sell a high flow air filter, and it seems to be the highest flow of all tested (notice the low resistance) the only way to do that is to let air through bigger holes or increase surface area and they didn't increase surface area, if you ever look at a K&N filter you will notice that it is basically a cloth filter woven from thick strands, bigger spaces + more flow and more dirt- it still flows the best. I have never heard K&N claim to capture the most dirt.

Certainly makes one wonder if the extra power (of a K&N high flow low resistance type) is worth the extra dirt. . .

Yeah, but look at how long K&N maintains its higher flow rate as it accumulates dirt. It very quickly begins to flow less than the paper filters.

Yup' I've seen it in person, it looks horible! but you can wash it, oil it, and drop it back in. Basically it seems like a good filter for racing, but not much else.

for the Green Filters a few ways...
Ive seen a few independent test too on them, but as
far as trapping dirt, on of my guys has a Tacoma and
we've taken that a few times to the dunes for a weekend
of fourwheelin in nothing buy sand
After we come back, and taking off out the filter we really
can never find signs of dirt or sand on the inside of the air tube
or even the inside of the filter. Dirt stays on the outiside only.
