It isn't necessary to reprogram your remote. The codes are stored in the security system module. Just replace the battery and go.

Are you referring to replacing the battery in the remote or in your car?

If you need to reset or reprogram new or additional transmitters, go to the How-To documents:
http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/user.php?How-To
and click on the "Security System" folder and click on "Reprogram Key Fob" for instructions.

alarm reset.

yup. Contrary to some posts, here is how I just did it.

Close the trunk, get in the car and make sure both doors are shut. Turn the ignition to ON, back to acc, on, acc, on, acc and start rapidly hitting the security button on the dash.

The car will let you know when it is in program mode. You'll hear the horn, then hear a clicking coming from the glovebox.

Have 1 remote? simple press the button on the remote. the car will acknowledge with a beep, but the clicking will persist. turn the ignition ON. Piece of cake. You are done.

Some directions say to just turn the ignition On then off. "Off" really means ACC. and in my 92, you have to do it three times. some directions don't mention this.
