How to keep water out of the brake lights?

When i first bought my SVX around 1 year ago the rear barke ligts never had water in them, now they had alot of water in them really took away from the apperance in the rear, so to day (first day of summer break) i took them off and got all the water out of them by using a hair dryer. I really dont want to spend a couple hopurs every month to get the water out and i was wondering what to people do to keep it out? I called up a dealer and they said they dident carry the gasket for it, and i cant seem to find one on subaruparts.com.

Thanks

I bought the gaskets online from either subaruparts.com or 1stsubaruparts.com about a year ago. I imagine they are still available - I'm sure one of the suby parts guys here will tell you.

If not - you could buy a similar material and cut a gasket to match.

Very simple. I bake my lights and take them apart. Then I open them and clean them and dry them. Then I put them back togethere and reseal them with silicone. Then I put a new gasket.

If you can not bake lights, just dry them good and put new gaskets. That'll help.

I have the part numbers for the gaskets (finishing material). Let me know which lights you need it for and I will PM you with the information. We are going to have a maintenance meet in the near future, and I can show you how to do it if necessary.

If it the amount of moisture that I have had in mine in the past, it would take a whole cows worth of jerky to do it.

Yeah it was about the same for mine. I took the light off the body and a little trail of water started to come off, and pour not drip off.
