geez, lighten up - the guy was just asking for some advice.

i, and most everyone here, would like more power for the SVX. this car was expensive, not many made, and unpopular to the general public, so there isn't much aftermarket.

TURBO - any turbo setup will be a custom job. a WHOLE lot of talking about it, but no one has done it. you'll need engine management, injectors, exhaust, etc. expect well over $10,000 to do it right.

CHIP - whereas turbo'd cars can see big gains from a chip or software, normally aspirated cars don't. save your money.

EXHAUST - Stebro (my recommendation ), Motorsports warehouse, etc. your best bet as far as mods go for a little extra kick (Stebro, anyway - can't speak for others.)

i'd recommend sorting out any problems with your SVX, getting a tranny cooler/external filter/temp gauge, and then upgrade the brakes - SS lines, pads, and rotors. then try to make it faster. do a search - you'll find a lot of 'turbo talk.'

Do you guys do any bay area meets? I go to the NorCal Club Si meets every year. I used to own a 2000 Honda Civic Si. So I keep in touch with a lot of those guys. I'd love to possibly go with Brock to a meet.

I havn't been to any bay area meets, I actually just found this place end of last year. There's suposed to be a big meet in Reno later this year, and of course my SVX is DOA so I won't be driving it any time soon.

BTW, I far as I know, you eat rice, you don't drive it.
Being that I drive an SVX I can no longer afford to eat anything but rice. You know you must give to your baby first. He gets everything and I get RICE

Ya know why I got my SVX? I was 19 and my parents were going to help me buy a car, how nice but I wanted a BMW... I figured I could buy a 6 year old car and it would take care of me for 15 years! I could They kept saying that it was just too expensive(this was a loan, they wern't going to pay for it), so after months of arguing I found an SVX. I looked everywhere and considered every type of car north of a honda civic... actually even those! the SVX was the only car that I expected to last a long time and didn't make want to puke, so I bought it... $6000 in maintnence and 9 months later I quit driving it of course a large part of that was the fact that my dad kept trying to "help" me fix it... "Why do you want to replace those wires that go to the traney? Just because they're burned dosn't mean that's what's wrong with the car"... I had already fixed all the parts that break, it should have lasted another 60,000-100,000 miles, but that just wasn't going to happen...!!! Anyway, I spent the next 5 years trying to get a good car...

Anyway, it's not usually this bad, just for me... It seems my luck with silver cars is bad, reel bad! No more silver cars for me!

From experience, its ur PS system. Small drop falls onto the cats. It should NEVER be low.

Ur tranny is slipping. That weird RPM behavior is something I experienced on a 94 LS FWD. Never experienced it in an AWD SVX, though. Try Lucas Stop Slip.

Rip all the exhaust shields off the car no matter what anyone tells you. Have the res. replaced with a straight pipe. Your buzzing will be gone, and you'll have more low end torque.

There's a good turbo available for the SVX:

http://store.yahoo.com/svx-motorsport-accessories/

Look in the performance section. Also worthwhile is an underdrive pulley and a BlitZe cone filter. For under $5,000 installed, you'll have about 335 HP to play with. But on front wheel drive. Nevermind.

Best of luck with ur SVX!

Except for the injectors, explain how it isn't. Going by MF'R claims for the pulley, intake, and turbo.

tranny wine?

ok..so the buzz sound i'm hearing is the tranny? its not a whine its a buzing..and slip stop wiil work? humm whats the real fix?
to me that sounds like a patch to cover the real problem ...does it need a simple trans service? will that fix the problem or does that tranny need to be overhauled before it goes out? or will the slip gunk stuff acutally work? the trany does seem to...shift very slow and shoft....not a harder type shift though i'm used to that due to escort trans slamed into gear (replaced 3 years ago) and my mech. made it shift harder.. said a slower softer shift...really wore our the bands... in time but isn' that bad for gears in the overall....and if so whats gonna be right for this trans? ahhh i dunno...i'm just confused....andi called a subbi dealer and they want $600-$800 for just a 90k service...its like damn....for that i cold have my mechanic llok it over and change everything but the belts and trans for that -lol- but is it worth having the subbi pros do it?

I bought mine at a dealership used. They tend to clean the engine compartment really well. I didn't notice the power steering leak for a couple weeks. It tends to leak slowly. I wish they wouldn't clean it before they sell them.

well i know they clean the engine i work at the used car that i bought it at prior to it being cleaned..i emnt we (our dealership) bought it wholesale from the new car chain..(they weren't going to retail it due to its miles and..for whatever else reason (maybe they don't know the following of the car and the possible demand..) it was pretty clean (still dirty i just mean clean as far oil leaks and such) i didn't notice he oder unitl after i test drove it for two days (100 miles to San Fran) and then i smeled it.and the more i smell it the more it smells just a lil differnt than motor oil, so the idea of ATF/Power steering fluid seems possible..thought my mechanic has been so damn busy i was gonn ahave him look at the lines and such when he did the timming belt. so i'm still gathering all possible probms for him..i plan to print everyting from this site for him.. to review to give him an idea... again thanks so much for your imput everything no matter how minr is a help

and anyone in my area might be intersted in an autocross with a few other types of cars or just to get together? (norht cali sonoma/napa/SF area)
