I thought that WRX was "World Rally Cross", with the X symbolizing the cross.

I e-mailed SOA last year and asked them about the SVX name. They said that it did not stand for anything......but I don't believe them. I've always accepted the "Specialty Vehicle eXperimental" idea.

MS themselves said, when CE came out, that 'CE' didn't stant for anything. They said that the letters 'suggested a compact, portable version' of Windows.

People simply assumed that it stood for 'Compact Edition.'

Now, I haven't looked it up recently, but it is possible that MS eventually adopted 'Compact Edition.' But, in '97 when I bought my first CE device, it didn't stand for anything.
I heard it stood for "Caveat Emptor".

I'm not going to let you out-geek me on this one.

When CE was first introduced in 96, MS said it did not stand for anything. By the time we have CE 2.1, I believe they just took what most people have been calling compact edition. Then it split between HPC and PPC and a whole confusion starts. CE2.11/2 core for HPC was called HPC Pro and then later upgradded to HPC2000 and is till called that today on the latest version (Latest being NEC Mobilpro 900).

PPC took a different route and became PocketPC, PocketPC 2k, 2k2, and now 2k3.

Well, all 2k3 devices (PPC, Smartphones, tablets, mediaplayers) now have what M$ calls "WINDOWS MOBILE 2003." New smell, same crap.

Subaru Vehical experiment.

HEHE Subaru Vehical Experiment was what I gave it. SOrta after finding out what parts cost and repairs. I still hate those yet I love the car so much I want a 2nd..

um is it me or does anyone else see the pattern here.

WHo is experimenting on WHO.. Too many Experiments going on that COST us the customer. THey should have done some of these Experiments at a testing ground instead just a bit more.. Cuase it's certainly been an Experience.
