I was reading the website and it said the lamps had lifetime warranty, however, the bulbs do not. Are you sure it's lifetime warranty?

I pulled this up from the PIAA website:

PIAA Corporation U.S.A., Limited Product Warranty
With the exception of bulbs, PIAA Corporation, USA ("PIAA") warrants its products to be free from defects in workmanship and materials under normal use for as long as the original
purchaser owns them.

I run regular looking bulbs (no coating) rated at 80W for my dims. I still use the stock wiring for them. Never had any legal issues. I think the bulbs emit the proper amount of light that our cars should.

If money is not too much concern you could always go HID like Mike's.

HIDs would be sweet but unfortunetly i'm as poor as...a person with an insufficient amounts of money in their bank account.

80watt lows sound good, what are stock or average wattage for the car? 50?

can i get a bulb with that wattage at any autoparts store?

thanks,

-Alex

If you really want cheap, bright bulbs there is an option but there is a catch. You could go for the non-dot approved 'Off Road Use only' bulbs. These tend to be blinding, but can definitely get you a ticket. You just have to ask yourself if it is worth a ticket.

I have the PIAA's and they are plenty bright.

Please pardon my ignorance but what kind of lights are H4's? I thought the low beams were 9006's and the high beams were 9005's. Are they the fog lights? If not, what are the fog lights just for future reference. I'm just trying to learn as much as possible about the SVX before I get it back from the shop. I got it like a little over 2 weeks ago and its been in the shop for almost 2 weeks now. Hope to have it back tomorrow.

Alternator Wiring Mod

Trevor... can you explain how running another wire from your alternator to your battery unfused could be dangerous?

Later,
Matt.

thats my mistake, I donno why I said H4, thats not for our cars

i found a place here that'll get 80/100 watt bulbs, for around 35 dollars which when compared to summit with shipping is about equal. Are those bulbs gonna be as bright as the 'offroad' ones you speak of?

My 80W 9006 bulbs and 100W H3 bulbs cost only CAD$3 each. I think the brand was "Worldlight" or something like that.

Got 80W bulbs in, unfortunetly they're 'ultra-super-hyper-mega plazma xenon HIDs' APC but they're bright nevertheless and were pretty cheap. All in all a good purchase.

Are you sure they are in fact 80W or "equivalent to 80W" when in fact they are still 55W?
