Front Diff Dipstick

k, my dipstick is MIA, gone and diff gear oil is spraying out hitting the exhaust and smoking like mad...

k that's my symptom

i do not know what the problem is tho....

why does the diff keep blowing the dipstick out

it was blown out and hanging below the car before lucky me... not so lucky this time i now have an open hole in the top of the front diff....
why is it popping out like that

is there a breather somewhere that should be releiving the pressure?

oh and does anyone have a spare front diff dipstick?

there are two vents hoses on top of the transaxle (meeting the transaxle body right at what I think is the transmission pump, i.e., where the diff joins the tranny). While I'm effectively clueless, I assumed one was for the transmission side and one for the differential side.

Over time, the seal on the top of the dipstick wears out, leaving it insecurely sitting in there. I'm guessing its been pulled out many times, right? I've had this happen to me on another model of car where I actually lost the dipstick for the oil. Just replace it and the new one should stay in there firmly.
