Anyone want engine Grounding kits???

Hey all. I met someone that can make us custom engine grounding kits out of 8 gauge wire... I am gonna be a ginue pig on this... Is anyone else interested on getting in on this deal??? Price will depend on how many we get but shouldn't be over $20.00.... All kits are soldered with silver to ensure better conductivity than just clamping together wires... Colors are also availible... let me know so I can get with him and we can get started on the project!!!! Thanks!!!

I'm interested, but I would like to see how they look on the car first.

I can understand that... The great thing about these kits is that you don't end up running 5 wires to your battery... there is only one wire that you run to your negative terminal... all the other wires join together below out of sight... Keeps the engine bay very clean and tidy...

Yes. And $20 seems reasonable, but if they jack up the prices to $40 I'd rather just make my own.

Count me in if you can keep the price at $20. Color - dark/light blue
Does the price change if you've already done the alternator wiring mod?

I don't think that the price will chance because of the wiring mod that you've done...

The kit hasn't been made yet, what I have to do is send him a Hi-Res picture of our engine bay with a tape measure going accross where the lights are so he can get an Idea of how big everything is... Then he will make the prototype and send it to me... If it all works out great then he will make more of them,....

BTW: If there is anyone that can do that picture for me who has a Hi-Res digital camera it would help out alot... I don't have a camera so I kinda hit a wall there... But if you could take a picture of the engine bay with a tape measure streached across infront and send it to me that would be great!!! Thanks!!!!

Ok, I have heard of this but I'm still uncertain on what this does for the engine?? Can anyone expand on this mod?

Basically, almost nothing. If your wiring is corroded, and the grounding points are dirty, it would help. But I'd be doing this just for asthetics, and hopefully a tiny bit brighter lights, tiny bit better grounding, etc. The stock grounding wire is kinda chinsy.

The theory is that you can gain some hp due to more efficient electronics - since they will now have a very solid ground. Check the web, I know there was an article in Sport Compact Car a while back in which they actually performed this mod with before and after chassis dyno runs.

Rob, When I saw your name appear in this thread I thought : - " This is one guy who is not stupid, how come he has suddenly lost his marbles " .

My faith was restored after reading the above !
