Pitchfork Mishap
So, yesterday I get up and go to work knowing that this day will be the last day I spend on this particular roof. I'm totally elated. This roof is a monster, steep and slick once the shingles are removed. Anywho, a fellow co worker left a tear-off pitchfork on the edge of the roof. All is going well and my crew and I are making great progress.
I ease the ladder into position and grab the said pitchfork and begin to remove the old shingles. I decide that I'm getting no where fast and decide to climb down the ladder to get into a better position to make progress quicker. As I pull the ladder away, I bump the pitchfork and it falls. With next to no time to react, the pitchfork falls and stabs me in the thigh. Immediately I let go of the ladder to pull the know stuck pitchfork out of my leg. I am the kind of person who uses every expletive deletive in the book when he gets hurt. Thank God that little kids weren't around for that. Anyway, I'm doing fine and have a hole about the size of a quarter in my thigh, no hospital for me. Hospital's are for pansy's. This injury sure makes getting in and out of the SVX a task in itself. Just had to share. It could have been a lot worse. Keith
