when is the actual date, if me and my friend get the svx done before that we will definetly be there.

This is the problem. with just about a year to go, we have:

NO dates set, or how many days this event will be for.
NO hotel/accommodations researched, much less negotiated.
NO research on banquet logistics.
NO events in the planning stages.
NO contact with Subaru America in Lafayette to see what they would be willing to do for us, similar to the 10th Anniversary Meet.

............ but we DO have a location.

No one can seem to agree on dates. Lafayette is hot during the summer months, as many who attended the 10th have commented, and into September. Between September and early June, many cannot attend as schools are in session.

Early June may be a possibility, but that gives you only 10 months to prepare! And I don't know of many people who would like to travel long distances during the Labor Day holiday. So what is left?

Once firm dates are agreed upon, hotels can be contacted and rates negotiated, etc. Once we have a place to go and a place to sleep when we get there, we can decide about agendas and events.




If I wasn't such an optimist, I could just post a poll to see if members thought this meet would actually happen.

We could make this real easy...

and just plan to have a 20th anniversary meet instead. Many organizations, schools and colleges have reunions at 10-year intervals.

Unfortunately, some of these beloved cars alive today will not be with us in 2012

But the cool thing is some those of those that survive will, depending on their state of registration, be eligible for "Historic" or "Antique" license plates.

They are completely separate. Reading is held in PA while the anniversary meet is likely to be held in Lafayette, IN.

If you're only going to one meet next year I recommend the anniversary meet!

Reading VIII will be the 8th anniversary of the first meet held in Morgantown, PA.

Reading holds the record for the largest gathering of SVX's in North America, and is held in April of each year.

Reading VIII will be held Friday, April 20-Sunday, April 22, 2007, at the Morgantown Holiday Inn.


The 10th Anniversary Meet was held on July 20-22 2002 in Lafayette, Indiana (Home of Subaru Isuzu America). This was to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the SVX, which appeared in 1992.

There are some early plans for a 15th Anniversary meet in 2007, at the same location. There are no definite dates for this meet as yet.

I am seriously thinking about starting a poll to see when people want this meet to be held and for how long, and the odds that it will happen. It may look something like this:
