I went through some of the cams that have been shipped to me. It's a good thing they are being reground. There are scratches and gouges on the lobes.

Please people. Each cam needs to go in its own box or be wrapped in cardboard; then the set of 4 individually wrapped/boxed cams go into an appropriate size box. Bubble wrap does squat. Dirty rags and shredded paper do squat except make a mess. Individually box or roll each cam in cardboard before boxing the set together.

ok. Not to harp on it but just so it's clear to everyone for the future....

Both sets of cams you sent were almost ruined. The gears banged into the edges of the protrusions that have machined inner surfaces that provide the thrust surfaces against the heads/end caps. You'll be able to file off where the dent is deap enough to cause a protusion on the machined surface. If they would have happened to bang against the seal surface they wouldn't be salvageable.

It is NOT a trivial matter to pack the cams right. Tom lucked out; if you want to call having to do touch ups to your otherwise sweet new cams lucking out. The next person might not be so lucky.

about the same. Yours were the ones in bubble wrap. He obviously tried to take care in wrapping them but I guess just wasn't familiar with how to package heavy parts.

I haven't called them. They are wherever they are in the production queue. Calling them won't change that.

Ok, I just went and spent more of my time dealing with this bad packing situation to try to make sure it never happens again. Next time i get boxes that obviously aren't packed right I'm just going to return them unopened.

since a picture is worth a thousand words...
maybe this will work....

sicksubie, these are the cams that were sent in for you. Luckily there is no damage on friction surfaces that won't be ground wo they will be ok.

Tom, these are cams you sent in. Not only were none of the cams able to be used without being ground, you can clearly see that some of your damage extends into the friction surfaces that hold the thrust forces and will have to be repaired before they can be used even after grinding.

Did you open mine and check them? I didnt box them seperate. I packed them fairly tight in foam with foam seperating the individual cams. I'd be surprised if they were able to bang against each other. Although they are probubly covered in little peices of foam.

With all of this trouble shipping these, do you mind if I deliver them to you personally. Are you still in Tampa? I live near Orlando.

They need to be boxed to be shipped to the cam grinder. If you wrap them in cardboard and box them together in an appropriate size box there is no problem at all.

ok , just to be sure that I understand how it works :

- We have to send our ( or some ) cams to have them rebuilt ? or something like that ?
- If we want to go Turbo , We need absolutely lower compression pistons ?
( du to autodetonation i suppose .. ? )
- And those cams are completely compatible with chip v2.7 ?

By the way , Its been 2 years that im here and , I just known that Micheal Emery is Longassname !!!! maaannnnnn still searching for 370cc injectors by the way !
