Re: Common things to go out on an eg33

The front diff's seem to be a bit fragile.

He is probably just Confused, Chris.

I would replace the Temp sensor, all the timing sensors, two crank, one cam sensor, PCV valve. These give the most common problems.

Harvey.

Kwren...throw in some temperature sensors...

Must not leave out the "yourconfused" front diff thingy!

Those little items will probably get us up to a few thousand dollars?

Maybe just drive it if it runs

Go ahead and reseal it before you toss it in save you some headache later due to leaking cam seals etc.

Re: Common things to go out on an eg33

How many miles are on the engines? If I were you, I'd replace the headgaskets while the engine is out. There have been more than a few that have failed most likely due to age. They have tended to fail and vent pressure to the cooling system.

Your comment on coil issues can be attributed to ham-fisted owners and techs tearing the wires and boots when removing them prior to replacing the plugs or cam cover gaskets. Take your time and the boot can be peeled from the plug body.

Also, replace the cam drive belts and check the idlers when you have it open. When in the front of the motor replace the front end seals and o-rings.
