ALtrac,

I had a 1967 SAAB Monte Carlo V-4, Stage II with no problems. The car was a daily driver, also ice raced, autocrossed, plus rallied ocassionaly. The only problem was the clutch. I had it replaced after abusing it for over 100,000 miles.

Maybe newer SAAB's have poor quality. I don't know.

I am going to the autoshow on Sat. We'll see if more uglier things are comming out. I want to see the mini that "Monster Garage" made to race snowmobiles though. Looks really good. I just wish Jessie James is there so I can talk him into making a scissor doors on my SVX.

Lwin,

Yes, the yellow Aztecs are UGLY and you can get them with an ersatz camoflage interior, which only makes them look worse.

And has anybody seen that GM actually made the Aztek WORSE last year? They were apparently confused about what made the car unappealing - so they decided that maybe it was the grey plastic cladding.

So they painted it the same color as the body. Now, they didn't prep the panels so they would match the rest of the car nicely. They left it with a bumpy texture so the top half of the car is a nice shiny red or yellow or whatever and the bottom is dull and...bumpy.

UGH. What the hell is wrong with these people?

In the immortal words of someone I know that owns a dealership, "GM just doesn't listen to it's dealers anymore."

I think it's you, Mike.

I find the wagons to be rather handsome and sporty looking, especially the Outbacks and there is noting wrong with the Impreza/WRX except that it is a little tall and stubby looking. Even the Forester is very appealing, especially the rediesign they just did but I may be alone on that one.

I recently saw a Mitsubishi Lancer at the supermarket and that was one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen. Hideous styling on the outside with zero integration and the interior was the ugliest, cheapest POS I ever saw in a car. Anyone else looked at one recently? I'm curious if it is just me that feels this way.

The Aztek has my vote as the ugliest vehicle ever made. Even the Buick SUV has an ugly back end with the window so low. It reminds me of a wigger with his pants hanging off his a$$ trying to look cool. As many awesome looking cars are coming out these days there are equally ugly ones. Must be a balancing thing in the force.

Strange coincidence

Came across a Subaru 7 seater on a Japanese website last week. It was crashed. They call it the Traviq [I kid you not! ] and it has a 2.2 litre engine.

Strangely, it has a straight four transverse drivetrain. I was thinking maybe a Toyota engine, but maybe not.

I will post some pictures of it when I find it again. Maybe you guys would recognise if it is a rebadged GM for the Japanese market.

It is definitely not a Voyager, looks more the size and shape of a Nissan Serena.

Joe

I read somewhere that in India the Forester will be billed as a Chevrolet instead of a Subaru.

Bags of detail.

Anyone recognise this as an American people carrier?

Weird pink colour too.

Very Interesting. It's an Opal/Vauxhall joint venture.

If you can get past the disturbing first article, scroll down and find another story on the Traviq.

That engine is a 2.2 Liter "ECOtec." it is the same engine used in the 2002+ cavalier and sunfire.
