Critters in the engine bay!
I changed my oil last weekend and noticed pieces of acorns and critter "litter" around the ABS pump and on top of the H-6 cover. Any suggestions on how to keep those pests away from my beloved SVX? A couple of years ago my Legacy left me stranded when the fuel pump harness got chewed by something and I do not want a repeat of that experience.

buy lots of cats ..... 24 should do the trick. or one big tiger. then again, it may work with 5 cats and a litter box on top and to the sides of your car.
or if you're a hunter, maybe you can get some feline urine to spray around the car. that should scare them away.

Aluminum foil on the rubber hoses works great. You'd better check UNDER THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. The critters like to store stuff like paper, leaves, and other flamable objects there. I needed one of those trusty plunger on one end, hooks on the other, tools to get all the stuff they put inside the tubes of the intake manifold on mine.

To get back to the original topic of critters under the hood (no, not crabs), here's a thought that just popped into my head...
How about getting one of those cheap motion detector switches (car alarm shop?) and put it under the hood where the critters live and wire it to the horn? Critter pops in and HONK!...he deposits more critter poop then high tails it outta there. After a couple of times with that he should definitely give up. And you will have the satisfaction of knowing when you scare the fleas off of him.  You could wire up a quick switch to kill it when working under the hood or just driving about.
