landshark, what color did you use and were those all the steps you mentioned in your post?

ive seen a post somwhere...i'll have to find it....but he painted his plastics black and said how he painted the hvac.....think he said he painted it all then got a toothpick or something to scrape the paint away in the letters lightly after the paint dried a little.

btw, while on painting interior pieces, my dash is fading pretty good by the windshield...any tips on fixing that??

Not my post - ive only done armrest lid and bumper guard on our Forester.

I remember seeing a post about how someone did their AC unit like you described, but i'd be too nervous to try it without screwing it up. Im too particular to try to freehand something like that and not have it bother me everytime i looked at it.

removed all parts from the car/panels, scuffed/prep/painted them. Same for the a/c but the one thats in it now was a test pice and isn't the prettiest up close. Doing something different with the panels soon similar to what you got but black and glow in the dark overlays.

Couldn't find the post I mentioned earlier but I did paint the hvac and let the paint dry for one day. After the paint dried I used a tiny screw driver to scrape out the lettering. Pretty simple

you may incur the harsh words of "He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Spoken-Of" if your color choice is not his preference, though.

ya, i really wasnt sure color to pick..and of course the paint is different then the cap of the spray paint can.
