Re: Crank Pulley Separated

That pulley has been loose for a while, must have had a knocking noise at idle?
Clean the key ways, fit a new key, and assemble with some Loctite 641 or similar product for key way fitting.

Harvey.

There was a slight knocking at idle; it wasn't loud enough that it worried me, but now it makes sense.

Can I purchase the key from Subaru?

I suppose so, or you can file up one, to be a snug fit, then use this Loctite
232, it's better for the job than 641, to fill and the extra space so it won't move again.

LOL! I should have said drive in reverse for the Driver side and forward for the passenger side.

Re: Crank Pulley Separated

Just want to verify this, I posted a WTB thread on nasioc and found a guy in my area with a pulley available. I noted that the pulley can be from any ej20, 22, or 25 engine and got a response fairly quickly. The seller tells me this is from a wrx/sti and I want to make sure it will fit properly before I buy it. Can anyone help me out? I know it doesn't look identical to our stock one, but I didn't expect that it would.

Re: Crank Pulley Separated

pictures aren't showing up for me.
But, as long as it's not an underdriven crank pulley, it'll work.

Re: Crank Pulley Separated

That will fit no problems, it looks like an EJ25 one.

Yep, picked it up last night and checked the fit. Only $15 too

Only thing left to do is get a new key and install in the end of the crankshaft, then it's just a matter of putting everything back together.
