DDM Tuning HID kit question.

Hi there.
I know that there are several posts about hid kits.
But I figured this was a faster way to get an answer.
I recently bought an HID kit from DDM Tuning. I also got the extra harness to go with it. Since I plan on installing it this weekend, do I really need the extra harness? (it has a relay wired in)

Re: DDM Tuning HID kit question.

The DDM kit is literally plug and play. You plug the one end into the existing 9006 plug and the rest of it into the new HID bulb. There's no cutting or anything else required. When I got my kit, I had nothing extra left over. Maybe the kits have changed in the three years since I bought mine, but I somehow doubt it.

Do you have the slim ballasts? If so, what looks like a relay is really the ignitor. There is an extension harness usually included, this is not needed if you mount the ballasts close to the bulb.

Re: DDM Tuning HID kit question.

The kit I ordered has the slim ballasts.
The extra harness was suggested by the tech guy at DDM Tuning.
It has a 40A relay and a 30A fuse.

We never had to add a relay or a fuse. I don't think the extra harness is needed.
