Yes, it have an "Econ" button in the gearshift lever. There is a "Power" light in the instruments panel, but i prefer it to remain off .

3. Any other switches on the gearshift panel, Aerial, Power?

Yes, there is a button to control the antenna, if you unpress it, the antenna remains inside, and the "Manual" button in the base of the shifter.

4. What is the Vin No.?

The vin # is JF1CXWLE0SG006008

Yes, i checked and there is no aiming device in the headlight other than the 8 mm regulating screws, there is also a cap in the rear of the headlight for changing the fog lamp that, in this case is absent. i would have loved an aiming system from inside and fog lamps.

I'm interested in the questions Harvey asked as well, I'm looking forward to your replies on those.

I've also another question. Harvey mentions what the Japanese call "keyless entry" which uses the door handle lifted in a numerical sequence to open the door without a key. English cars don't have this, Japanese and apparently Australian SVXes do.

If by any chance your car has this, then it is easy to check. When you lift the driver door handle does it make a "beep" sound inside the car? If you can hear a beep, then it has the "keyless entry" computer on board, and you will be able to reprogram the system to let you unlock it without a key.

Yep, my car have this emergency Keyless entry system (that would be usefull if you lock your keys inside the car ),it´s awesome!!
I programmed it with the code 2322 and it unlock the doors. I didnt know about this system untill i readed here about it. I ever wondered why my door "beeped" everytime i rised the handle with the doors locked .

If it is possible to get the keys at all, here's how it will work; your dealer will put in a back order request to Japan using your VIN code that will identify the car for them. It took about 5 weeks to get my Mitsubishi key from Japan.

If Japan can't supply a key then I can't tell you where to go next. I have never heard of any key service offering to decode an OEM infra red system, then code up a key to suit that.

Not saying somebody smart somewhere can't do it, just that I never heard of this being offered.

That is a GREAT (and clever) idea! I will ask my uncle (he was manager of the Subaru dealership) about this, i bet they can do as you said.
Thank you!!

Re: Keyless entry?

It'd be great to hear Harvey's and Joe's questions answered but you might be able to use this russian parts website to find part numbers and then you might be able to order the parts you need, best to order parts from Japan Subaru.

Re: Keyless entry?

Sounds like a special SVX, congrats.

Can you post some pictures of your car?
Can you post a picture of the fuse cover under the hood?

These pictures will help us understand your specs, and therefore advise on various systems.

LSi?, were the Euro cars called LSi like the US cars?
Do you have an owner's manual that says LSi?
What language is the manual in?

Re: Keyless entry?

Great, we're looking forward to seeing pics of a nice later model car.

The fuse covers are lettered in one corner, A, B, C, D, etc. Could you take a look and see what letter code you have on the cover?

Is the cover in English, Japanese, or other?

The car is not looking so good, it was sitting under the sun and rain for 3 years, with the drivers window half opened , so sad because it is a very low mileage rust free, perfectly straight car, also the engine is not in working order.
The fuse cover has the letter "C" in the left bottom corner, and is written in english.
I will take pictures of the car, the interior, and the fusebox.

Re: Keyless entry?

The car does have VTD, Variable Torque Center Differential, that sends 65% of the power rearward.

The car seems to be a Euro-spec, not Germany which did not get VTD, but like the markets that did get VTD. I don't know which if any of those markets got keyless entry, not much is known about non-UK, non-German Euro cars.

If you need keys, the Right side door lock has a four number code, a Subaru dealer can cut standard Subaru keys based on that.

If the window will not stay up, a $10 clip fixes that.

Good luck,

Thanks for the info on VTD.
I found the part number for the infrarred KEY in this page, the part number is 57497A

http://www.akadia.ru/_pages/subaru/i...c9PTU4MA%3D%3D

I fixed the window, it was the window motor that was seized because of rust, i cleaned it very well, and changed the two tiny carbons, they are made of some kind of graphite. It works like new now
