Cost of Transmission Service and brake pads
Hey I just gave my 95 SVX for servicing at Subaru dealer. Its costing me 185$ for Transmission service and flush and around 180$ for brake pads, is it what it costs or are they ripping me off.
Can someone reply ASAP so that i can go ahead with the service. Thanks VA |

That sounds about right. I paid that much for a transmission flush and refill at the Subaru dealer.
As far as brake pads go, Subaru List is $99.95 for the front set of pads and $79.95 for the rear pads. Thats already $180.00 in parts alone. Was the price quoted for the brakes an installed price? .

My recent Tranny service when I supplied the filter (40.00 or so) and a quart of Lucas Transmission additive (9.00) was 70.00 at my local (non-Subaru dealer) shop. If you had a flush, with complete fluid replacement expect to pay more in the 150.00 neighborhood. Those figures seem right for a Subaru service visit. One set of front brakes with rotors turned was quoted to me at 145.00 + tax. Again, not at a Subaru dealership.
