Well, good news...I was able to get the dealership to remove the defective transmission that they had initially installed in the car and replace it free of charge with a new one.
This whole issue was resolved about a month ago. The new transmission works perfectly now. The converter locks and unlocks as it should and the new tranny really puts the power and torque to the ground. Upshifts and downshifts are nice and sharp. The RPM's at certain speeds (60mph, 70, 80, etc) are right where they should be. And the fuel mileage is even better than it was w/ the original trans.
