1st 1/4 mile times from my 5mt

Well finally got the old girl to the track today. I am a very happy man that I simply did not break anything. I got some pics, nothing spectacular. The cool part of the night was seeing the AEM RWD drag racer civic do a simple launch and run a 15.5 @ 55mph. I thought that was pretty cool with a 0-60ft time of 1.15 seconds.

Here is me in the Staging Lanes

My brother and friends in the lanes

The AEM rwd civic at the line

Me at the line waiting for the truck to stage

Not a good pic of me launching for my 10th and best run of the night

I had a bit of technical troubles scanning the time slip but don't even think for a second I would lie about it. I will copy it from the slip

R/T ... .413
60' ... 2.041
330 .. 6.119
1/8 ... 9.481
MPH .. 73.30
990 ... 12.321
1/4 ... 14.881
MPH ... 91.51
This run I had taken my spare tire jack and all the other stuff i usually have in the trunk out. The other runs I made tonight i had at least 75lbs worth of stuff in there. My best time of the night I was able to read to Chike as he called me while there were a few cars being cleaned off the track. I ran a 15.055 @ 90.18 MPH. I was very excited that my final run was my best and I broke into the 14's on it. I finally got the launch I wanted and my shifts could have been a little faster but I am happy with it as of now. Everything is holding up on the car great and the trans did not skip a beat all night except for 2 times i blew my 3rd gear shift and ground the hell out of my gears. All and all I had a great time but my brother was a little upset cuz he couldn't hook very well with his tires and ran a couple 13 sec flat 1/4's. Well I finally dipped an SVX into the 14's, now i need to go faster so we will see what mods will lay ahead for my baby....

Tom

Oh I almost forgot....Chike beat that!!!

Those times are pretty good.Take a good look at your trap speed,if you want more you may want to try taking your intake manifold off and some out the rough area inside, also if you can get away with it run a gutted exhaust. Before breaking a rod,my trap speed hovered around 90mph,with my heads decked a little and my heads got some porting mainly around the valve seats and intake areas, also the intake manifold was ported. This was done by a shop that built mustangs for racing. My svx dyno'd 221 at the wheels,up from 189 stock.I think also fwd svxes do make a little more power because of less drivetrain components. My times constantly was in the high 14 range and my trap speed hovered around 94-95mph.When my time was first posted people thought it was a nos time.Looking at your trap speed from the 1/8th,you should expect at least 20-22 mph more after the 1/8,but being awdand my car fwd that my be somewhat of a factor.Overall outstanding time.

Thanks guys. I was just happy my transmission held up to the abuse of 10 runs in one night. It really makes me feel better about running the car. I will be doing some of the simply mods like the throttle body bypass and underdrive pulley soon. I also realize that my intake in the fender is screaming for a new filter already. Hopefully with some of those things done and maybe a little more weight savings I can break it down to a 14.6 maybe 14.5 with a good launch. Well.... here is to drag racing!

I really need to get out to the strip one of these days.... I would love to see where I stand. I don't think anyone with ECUtune st.1 and stock trans has made a run yet.

Holy cow Tom, now that's an amzing time. Glad you took all of the extra weight out of your car like I mentioned. Don't forget to post your slip to dragtimes.com and scoobymile.com. We need more SVX's on there...
