He meant 700rpm I was in the car, baby make big boom. BTW I think I am the only other one that knows the camshafts are hollow.

How did he get the car down to 700rpm's when he was between shifts???

Hahaha, so you know the camshafts are hollow too?? Isn't that awesome!! I never would have thunk it Especially from a roadcar engine designed in 1990-1991... Now it is easy to see that the EG33 was the most advanced engine that Subaru had until the 2004 STi...

Launch.... Hollow camshafts mean less rotational mass which in turn makes for less drag on the motor. It also helps ya break em easier

ouch.....if you let it bog down under 2k and then sprayed i think you found your culprit. your not suppose to turn it on under 2k or so. But if it was over 2k and you where on your way through the gears id chek out your injectors.
phil

either way i still think it wasnt just becuase of the power, you should be good to go,

My favorite is in the second pic, the blurry round thing on the far upper side of the block is one of the exaust valves stuck to the other side.

I might have to take you up on that offer Tom. Aside from having no block to build for a Stage III (or would it be stage IV? ) I'm a little hesitant to open the bottle again with no spare motor on hand. Even though I'm pretty sure what I did wrong, S@#T still can happen.

So anybody got ideas on why it picked cyl 4 to gernade?

I launched and then floored it, I thought I was in a safe range but it bogged pretty bad and then took off like a rocket, when I went to shift to second the car just wasn't running anymore, I looked in the rear view and saw a giant cloud of smoke.

I don't really know what happend and all I could hear was the AutoXer next to me spining tire and throwing rocks around in it's wheel wells. I never heard the motor pop.

Well I finnally got around to pulling the other head off just so I could keep the head and the cams and toss the block.

Well I found more coolness on the other side. Turns out cyl 4 was on it's way to the same fate as cyl 3.

I'll try to post pics but who knows?

Well I guess not. Dave would you mind?

Noisy?

I bet that was noisy for a few seconds. Might have even been louder than your stereo. Also, don't think JB Weld is going to fix this one.

I'll have to check when I get home, but I'm pretty sure the camshafts from my MR2 are hollow. And that thing's an '86.
