SVXs help prevent cancer

No, really.

A buddy of mine thought my SVX was pretty hot stuff. A couple months ago he spotted one for sale at a dealership, so he stopped in to take it for a drive. He got pretty excited at the prospect of owning one, so he started trying to figure out how he could afford it. (First problem.)

Unlike many of the cars he's owned in the past, the SVX is a real gem, and worth preserving. He wanted to be sure it lived a good life, but he was a smoker and he didn't want a tobacco-stained car. (Second problem.)

Solution? Quit smoking.

He quit smoking the day he decided he wanted an SVX. So far, no car. It's been a couple months, but he's still looking. Now he's got an extra hundred bucks a month to spend.

That kinda brings tears to my eyes. *Sniff*

nah, i didn't buy it. i can't believe that magic snake oil will fix it if it's slipping. guess i could try...but i'm retarded and have to figure out where to put it in. those pretty pictures in Uberoo's locker got he interested in seeing what some of the internals look like.

Noir's kinda like Jack the Ripper. Cutting stuff open to find out what's inside.

Noir, I presume you're referring to the pictures of my transfer clutch.

I wasn't having any binding problems - well, I was - but the problem was that it wasn't binding when it was supposed to.

My transfer clutch broke, and nobody would have been the wiser if it hadn't been for being able to light up the front tires from a stoplight. The clutch just snapped right off the shaft. Aside from not having AWD, it worked just fine - absolutely no binding at all. None. Not even when I wanted it.

The easy way to check for a broken transfer clutch basket is to pull speed sensor number two and check for metal shavings. (As per the picture in my locker.) If you want to tear it all apart anyway, go for it. I just want to make sure you know the problem I had wasn’t a binding problem.

...and I totally understand the Jack The Ripper thing. I do that to everything I own, regardless of whether it's working or not.
