Cool Longing for the 1st SNOW!!!

This winter will be my first with an awd car, and I can't wait to take my SVX out in the snow! Only thing I'm worried about is sracping the bottom due to the low ground clearance, but other than that, the 4EAT's prowess in the white stuff is amazing! I've seen Legacies and Outbacks get out stuff that left other awd cars stuck.

Who else will have their first winter in an SVX this year?

I had my first winter with my SVX last winter. Car didnt do as well as i hoped in the snow although it still did great. The reason it did so poor was because my 2 back tires were almost if not completley bald and the fronts had veryy little tread left. This will be my first winter with new tires so I am also longing for the great blizzards. I really feel like i can take on anything in this car. Manual mode is a great added feature that complements the AWD. Ive found that when you start slipping in an AWD car the best thing to do is give it more gas....the car straightens itself out. I dunno if thats coincidence or a stupid comment lol...but it worked for me.

Oh good, lets all go to SLC and celebrate the snow! First annual SVX snow meet, it'll change locations each year depending on who gets the white stuff first.

We had a NW snow meet last year:

Always have fun on snow with my SVX these few years especially
in the extreme situations.

Well, I did get stuck ince before on a really, really, really thick snow parking lot. That snow was too thick for svx.

Ice+Mud+Snow, everything is fun..... Can't wait on the
first big snow coming.... I definitely drive out and cruise
easily to show pple me and my SVX can do that.

Those are pretty challenging and steep hills. I tried my fwd cars definitely couldn't do it. Went home and took the SVX out and did it easily.

This will be my second winter in teh snow. Last year was incredibly fun and I hope the same lunacy will occur this year. My only worry is my tires. Last year I braved the snow with Toyo Observe studless snow tires, and this year, I will hopefully still be on my second set of performance Falken's. The first freeze is expected tonight and our local skiing recreation area has already gotten it's first 6 inches of snow.

200 ft powerslides in complete control, here I come.

It's best to play in the snow before the salt trucks take to the road.

Eh - I guess the SVX was good in the snow - never really drove before the plows hit the road ..........why would you?! One thing I thought was awesome was not shoveling my car out of a parking space .......just plow right through it Or seeing a parking space not cleared to well and saying - "ah, I can probably get out of it."

They don't really plow in Flint, and I could drive anywhere I wanted. When we had our parking lot plowed at my fraternity, I had to tow some of the cars to make room for the plow. This was in 10-14" snow. Snow tires make the SVX a tank.

the only time i got stuck in the svx was trying to drive in the 4.5 feet of snow we got in march 2003.
