And the original looks expensive? I think not. But it DOES have the SVX logo on it. That, of course, makes a BIG difference.

I only paid about $42 for a NEW remote from Couer D'Alene Subaru. I scratch my head when I see these USED remotes go on Ebay for $50. People need to learn to shop around!

subaruparts.com

is the absolute best. i blew my local mechanic away when i told him i could get a power steering pump for a $130 less than what he was trying to sell it to me for. stupid a-hole, how dare he overcharge me like that, imagine if i would not have known about subaruparts.com......these garages will take advantage of you in a heartbeat.

They're really not taking advantage of you. They are just charging you Subaru's retail price on the parts, which is horribly bloated and close to thievery, but really, they aren't ripping you off, Subaru of America is.

for it is still on them.

as a manufacturer of eyewear my company publishes a MSRP price. that suggested price is a guideline not the gospel. we have many retailers that choose to sell our products below our MSRP.

I understand that the market yields a certain price for certain products but there is a limit and these dealers have reached well beyond it in my opinion. companies like subaruparts.com realize that if you put out a fair price you will make up for your profit losses with volume. that would explain why they did close to $400,000 just in parts sales last year.

I can't remember, but did you say you dealt in "safety" eyewear. I have a pair of saftey glasses (the kind they hand out in the factory) that I'd love to find a set of interchangeable lenses for (they come with clear). I know they're out there, but, I have no idea where to start looking. Any ideas?

You're my hero! I take back all the bad things I've ever said, or done to you.

(That doesn't mean I'm going to stop, it just means I take them back, up to this point. )

That's just the generic subaru remote that came with any factory alarm/keyless entry package on legacy, impreza, or svx in the early 90's. The SVX just had it's own style plastic "face sticker". I think the idea of the 2 buttons was lock/unlock in certain models.

You could always design your own decal and print it out. Then just glue it to the remote.
