Question All you rap fans (or anyone that at least knows about it) - What am I in for?

Got the call this afternoon that I'm on for this show Saturday.

"The Everett Events Center is pleased to announce the KUBE 93 Birthday Bash. Artists scheduled to perform include Outkast featuring Big Boi, Jagged Edge, Ying Yang Twins, Baby Bash, Marques Houston and Cassidy."

I'm supposed to operate the shoulder mount video camera up on stage with the bands. I'll admit I don't know much about today's rap scene (these are rap artists right? ), but my instinct tells me being up on stage for this show should warrant slightly more trepidation than say, a John Tesh show.

Fill me in, kids, am I overreacting?

Those Baboons are not as cuddly as they look either. We parked up in a game reserve in Kenya, and one climbed on the car and was trying to get inside. Belha's dad walked up and smacked it on the a$$.

It let out a blood-curding screech and came at us with claws and bared teeth. We ran away and fortunately it didn't chase us.

The moral of the story is, if a baboon tries to hijack your car, just give him the keys.

Going back to the original subject of Rap Music, could somebody explain to me why Rap stars always appear so moody and full of "attitude".

I've seen their videos: They have big houses, gold jewelry, shiny new ferraris and are surrounded by dozens of half-naked women.

What more do they want out of life? I'd be the happiest guy in the world!

Well the show went off pretty "safe and sane" IMO. Found out when we got to work that the reason our place was hosting the show was that the arean in Seattle had kicked the radio station out for things that had happened at past birthday bashes.

But there were tons of cops there and at least from where I was up on the stage things seemed fine. When I went back upstairs to put the gear away, the upper bowl of the arena had an incredible stench of weed, kinda gives a new meaning to the term upper bowl.

Of all the artists there, Master P definitely had the whole attitude act going the heaviest. When he came out on stage our technical director goes "Whoah that guy looks mean. Don't piss him off!"

Down by the dressing rooms though just a bunch of normal guys getting pampered a little too much.

Never seen so many Escalades and H2's with 20+" chrome rims driving around Everett before (all the fans coming to the show). Can someone explain how all these rap fans can afford those rides?

Well I think most of these were from King County, like I said I've never seen these kinds of thug wannabes up in Everett before. KUBE is a Seattle station, actually the whole Puget Sound, and this was their big deal, we were the only place that would have them. So it drew in fans from all over. Lucky us.
