Yes. The Meet Monster Lives!

I stopped for gas last night (prices down from1.83 to 1.79). As I was leaving the station, I pulled into traffic. Noticed a pronounced flare in the 2-3. I said to myself (out loud) "I DID NOT JUST SEE THAT!!" I proceeded down the road without incident. Only a short distance down the road, I had to stop to turn. I stopped. But, I didn't turn. She would not move. Called tow truck. She sits at the tranny shop now, unable to be looked at 'til Monday. Irony: After the flatbed dropped the car, just out of curiosity, I got in the car, started it and put it in gear. It engaged. Rather than try to drive it home and chance having to call the tow truck again, I left her (reluctantly) and had the wife come get me. We'll see. It IS that time of year, after all. Right?

I am sorry to hear that. It is that time of year again, but maybe early enough to be taken care of before it is too late.

My car is fine (well, in pieces but it works --knocks on wood). But I may be heading to CO right around the meet (freeking work). I was just telling that to Doug the other day. I'll try to make sure I am not stuck in CO.

What, exactly, would be the problem with being stuck in CO? We happen to have a very nice state here, and not too few SVXers.
Hmph!

Damn, Randy! I hope it isn't serious - probably isn't. But as someone said, at least there is time to get it corrected, if there is something wrong!
Good luck on it!

Ya just can't win, can ya, Randy? It looks like you're still on a 'first name basis' with that guy named 'Murphy'. I hope it's something simple in the end. Keep up posted.

Good Luck!

Thumbs up

At least this time you've got an evil spare.
You DO still have an evil spare, Randy?

Shhhhhhh! Don't say anything. Yes, I've got the spare. But, if she hears, something may go wrong with her. Actually, I think the rack's about gone on her. But, I do have a line on a new (used) one, if it's still available (you know who you are. )

Dropped by the tranny shop today and dropped off the keys. Am still reluctanct to let them work on her (yes, the FIRST shop that keeps her for 30 days at a time), but, their parking lot was virtually empty, and they look like they'll be able to look at her right away. That's the good news.

Once the tranny's back in order, I'll have to get some front end work done, before I feel comfortable driving her to Reading. May be planning a trip to Louisville for that (BEAV, YOU STILL AROUND?)

I'll keep y'all updated (as if you guys thought I wouldn't). Keep your fingers crossed that it's not serious enough for a drop. I now cringe every time the tranny has to be pulled.

If it were possible, I'd just have ET's tranny swapped to "Patience" and put a fiver in ET, but, fundage really sucks right now. It's gonna be a stretch just to spend the funds to be in Reading this year (without the added expense of tranny and front end work), but, as always, I'll spare no expense (and no end of havoc on my credit cards) to be there, if nothing MAJOR goes wrong.
