My cool 'neon SVX' photos...

...did not turn out as expected. I over-exposed them to the point where my car looks like it's pink...

...and glows in the dark. Ick.

A couple of them are okay. I think that a light meter, besides the one in the camera, would have helped immensely.

Looking at the photos again, there are three that I like. I'll probably submit them for next year's calendar.

And there is also one I took of Randy's car while we were driving...somewhere. Sun setting in the background, brake lights on...I dig it...

I'll try to scan 'em today.

Oh...uh...only three of you know what I'm talking about. Maybe two.

Anyway, the hotel we stayed in at AutoFest took up a couple city blocks. Around the entire hotel was a line of red neon. I noticed how cool it looked reflecting off passing cars. So I went out at about 11:30PM, parked the car on a darker street, and went to town with the camera on a tripod.

I got some strange looks, sitting on the sidewalk next to my car, remote in hand and with my camera on a tripod next to me.

Nick, I hope you got my "good side." That would be the side where it didn't show that one tail light is dimmer than the rest. GAH! I HATE THAT!

...are now in my personal locker, along with one photo of Randy's Pearly, which I took while driving. Not early as dangerous as the zoomed photos I took of buildings in Louisville on the way home.

Enjoy.

Great pics Nick (pics Nick, picnic, It's almost lunchtime -- Damn word associations!). The shot of my . . . uh . . . tail is now in my screensaver sequence. BTW, any idea why Steve's photos go all "pixelly" on me? Are they just so lo-rez?

I'm taking a shot in the dark, here, because I haven't seen your particular problem.

Steve's photos are larger than mine. I constrained them to only 640 pixels wide so they'd load faster, fit on everyone's screen and hide the bits of fluff on our scanner. Steve's photos are 800x600. If your 'screensaver' scales Steve's photos down, it is very possible that the results might be ugly.

Resize the photos to 640 wide and my guess is that it'll be okay.

Nick,

Just peeked at the auto fest photos in your locker.
I think they are terrific & very artsy.
I especially like neon 02.

PS: On my computer the photo of Randy's SVX seem to have a
SILVERY-YELLOW caste.

Hey Larry, this is no place to try to institute a caste system. However, in the hierarchy of autos, the SVX is surely a Brahmin.

I do not know what the silvery-yellow caste is called. Randy would probably call them "untouchable"

Ah, the ultimate barb to toss his way, to suggest that his car even remotely looks yellow.

I just have one thing to say, Larry --- ADJUST YOUR FREAKIN' MONITOR!

We now return to your regularly scheduled banter. Please allow your automatic seatbelt to adjust itself and, enjoy the ride.
