The only cars on my list when i grow up and hopefully make a decent living are:

WRX
MK4 Supra turbo targa
a newer infinity QX4
my SVX

And maybeeee a 91-93 MR2 Turbo.

You got the WRX for daily driving, the Supra for going fast, the QX4 for outdoor activities and winter driving, and the SVX for cruising and going out on the dates .

I'd still rather have the SVX than a WRX. Now an STi....

Have the best of both worlds! Have one of each!

I like my SVX, but as Landshark says, the WRX is more "fun" to drive. I don't particularly care for the "smoothness" of the tranny shifting (manual), but other then that its great. Quick enough, high reving, feels a lot lighter then the SVX, considering theres only 400 lbs of difference.

I have the SVX for when I feel like taking long trips on the highway,as its obviously a smoother car at high speed. My WRX wagon don't feel nearly as solid at high speeds as the SVX.

I rode in a STi the other day, and the difference between the STi and the WRX is night and day. I think the best combination would be a STi driveline in a SVX...I think that would be quite amusing...I have yet to see a wrecked STi for sale though.

Oh, and on another note... I only see one WRX and one SVX a day, and both sit in my carport. I occasionally see the above mentioned STi, but not often. WRXs are anything but common around here...I routinely get comments from people that don't even realize that Subaru makes a "sports car." I actually get more comments in the WRX then in the SVX.

I have to also agree with Landshark on this one. We also have both a WRX and an SVX and the two are like night and day(sorta like us). The rex is much more fun to drive on a twisty road and especially fun when you're pinned to the back of your seat passing someone at 70 in 3rd gear(not that I condone such things). My son loves it and things it's cooler than my car(kids.....) We take my car for long trips as it's way more comfortable than his and his the rest of the time. I actually prefer the 5spd and the seats in the WRX as opposed to mine as they grip you more. The only thing that sucks is there's no lumbar adjustment on them. Funny thing is he prefers the automatic and the seats in the SVX over his.

The problem that we have now is who gets to drive the Legacy turbo when it's finally done.......

Must be nice. In my little middle-of-no-where town, I've got 3 STi's and endless WRX's. The most insulting of all was the kid I went to school with that had LANCER on his WRX's plates. Sacrilege! God, that kid was a dork.

Sadly, I've yet to drive a WRX. But I plan to change that when I pick my car up at the dealership this week. I consider it payback for all the dicking around they've done with me this week.

Thats actually a good thing. With WRX owners' amazing ability to roll these things, you should be able to find drivetrains a lot easier then I can. I continue to look for a wrecked STi (not that I could afford to buy it at the moment) but I can never find one.

Just get a yellow 03 wagon, you won't look like anyone else on the road.

Oh yeah, heres my take on the SVX and WRX...
SVX = Wallet raper
WRX = Wallet raper in training

see, they aren't that different.

i drove a friend's wrx and wasn't all that impressed. i like all the extra ammenities the svx has to offer over the wrx. however, it's all i can do from going to my local subaru dealership and trading in the impreza for a forester 2.5xt. i am just holding out to compare it to the 2005 legacy turbo next year.

Ok, I have to ask, but what amenities does the SVX have that the WRX does not aside sunroof? Even some WRX's now have sunroofs. They both have power steering/locks/windows/mirrors...

WRXs don't have the power driver's seat, telescoping wheel, or pseudo-leather interior, but I don't really miss those things. I would almost rather have nonpower seats with the escaine inserts in my SVX.

The WRX has extra headroom over my Ls-L, but somehow I think that could be remedied by a sunroof-less SVX.

(not being defensive, just curious)

good points. it must be the sunroof. that and the cheap, plasticy feel.
