my abs unit is leaking

Nothing too major but I have to fill up the take ever 2000 miles or so.

It appears to come from a few of the lower threaded lines. is there anything I can do?

Need more info?

Thanks

Greg

Re: my abs unit is leaking

the only advice i can give is dont let that fluid leak on your driveway, that **** eats away at asphalt and prolly concrete too

Re: my abs unit is leaking

I may have noticed a small leak in mine too. What would the best plan of action be? And could this be the cause of my sporadic ABS light? It comes on every so often... maybe 1 in 15-20 trips, usually when accelerating hard at high speeds. Every once in awhile my ABS will kick in when I'm nearing the end of a very gentle stop and cause a slight lurch along with the ABS "vibration" sound.

Re: my abs unit is leaking

Mine was leaking slowly as well. Then when I needed to brake hard... lets say it didn't leak slowly and caused me to get in an accident. Replace the lines if they are leaking but mine was leaking from the unit itself, so I removed the unit and went to L model non-ABS brakes. It would be best to replace the Unit itself if it is leaking

Re: my abs unit is leaking

I just had to replace one of the rubber break lines. The rubber deteriorated right at the metal bracket. We discovered the problem whn my wife was pulling out of the driveway and the brakes failed. Thankfully she was going very slowly at the time.

There are three things in life you shouldn't screw around with:

1. Grizzly bears;
2. Married women; and
3. Brakes;
(not necessarily in that order).

If you're losing fluid, get the problems fixed properly. It's not going to get better by itself and it could cost lives when it gets worse.
