hard starting

Hi guys. Checked the search thread but did not find anything resembling this little problem. Every once in a while lately when I go to start the car it just clicks on turnover. At first I thought it was the obvious (starter problem), got it checked but could not find anything. (Still could be the starter though.) Anyway, I think it may be in the auto tranny shifter. I find if I move it around a little the car seems to start no problem. Any ideas...

I had that happen to my Legacy - to fix it I cleaned the starter solenoid contacts.
