Shock absorbers

Just had my black machine fail the MoT because one of the front shock absorbers is leaking. Do I have to fit an original Subaru shock absorber or is there another standard shocker that will fit? I'm not really bothered about replacements e.g. Konis but just want to get it back on the road asap and as cheaply as possible.

Stock

Unfortunately you don't have much choice. You are either stuck with stock or Konis unless you buy the real expensive ones that Dayle sells. If all you want to do is get it back on the road at least expense you might check for a used complete strut. The risk here is getting one that is either stiffer or softer than the other side. Of course, I guess you have that now.
